Our Story

KING-N-ROOK (KNR) is an independent fashion line based in Brooklyn, New York.

KNR offers one-of-a-kind, limited edition, custom and vintage bow tie conversation pieces for stylish men, women and boys. Each bow tie is individually hand cut and sewn in the traditional manner.

These are NOT your average bow ties however. KING-N-ROOK specializes in freestyle ties with reversible fabrics leaving you with essentially two (sometimes three) ties in one! No pre-tied bow ties available.

About the Creator

Richard Joseph, KNR's creator, prides himself on bringing his unique fashion perspective to the KNR brand.  He is a former fashion model, and vintage men's wear collector, who currently works as a graphic and multimedia designer. A bow tie wearer for over 10 years, Richard grew tired of paying retail for bow ties that didn't quite capture his eclectic and Brooklyn-inspired style.

For the Love of the Game

The company was named KING-N-ROOK for Richard's love for the game of chess and his mission to teach his son, Andrew, to love and play the game; along with their shared love for fashion and all things Brooklyn.
